leaking fuel

Today I finally took my n2o off of the car but since it was a wet system It hooked up to the valve on the fuel line. When I took it off I realized I didn't have the cap for the valve. But figured it shouldn't leak. I guessed wrong it gushes fuel up through the valve. Does that cap really hold pressure or is the valve broken. If its just the cap where could I get one?

Thanks guys

You need to replace the valve core in the Schrader valve. That's what seals the opening. The cap is just a "dust cover". Looks like a tire valve core, but is specifically designed for fuel service. Inserts using a tire valve core tool. You had to remove it when you hooked up the N2O system, or fuel wouldn't have come out of the valve.

Its called the valve core for the Schrader valve. I've never tried to buy one, so I don't know if an auto parts store will have it. I know there are different types for different manufacturer's valves, so you have to be sure what you buy is specific to the Schrader valve used on GM products.

I looked it up and found 17112556 (A/C Delco #217-384). This is the core and dust cap. Looks like 17113086 is an O-ring kit for fuel rails and regulator. Double check though, I'm old.......

The rubber seal in that valve will fail in contact with fuel....sooner or later. You'd be much better off getting the correct one rather than burning your car to the ground.

The correct and current part number is 125670619. You can get it from a variety of sources. www.rmsautoparts.com has it for $21.50
