LE3 383 dyno #s
LE3 383 dyno #s
Well i just got off of my buddies dyne about an hour ago and am very happy with the results considering it is on a base tune only has 2.5" exhaust and looks to be running out of fuel with 42lb inj and stock pump. I cant post the graphs
Peak rwhp 457.7 at 7000
Peak rwtq 381.6 at 5100
A/F dropped to 11.2:1 at 4500 and went to 14.1:1 at 7150rpm
It had over 350 Ft-Lbs from 3100-6500
I also scanned the car and it had 0-1* of KR in the mid range is all too

Are these LE3 LT1 heads?
Are the #s SAE corrected dynojet?
Re: LE3 383 dyno #s
thats what i thought, Lloyd thought it would peak around 6700. It has an LE4 cam in it that is fairly big but still very drivealbe imo. I have every bolt on including an electric WP and the intake is ported as well. Does the torque seem low to anyone considering that it is a stroker motor?
Thanks Scott
Thanks Scott
Re: LE3 383 dyno #s
They are LE3 LT1 heads, and it was actually on a mustang dyno. To be honest i am not sure if the numbers are SAE corrected or not i just printed the graphs right after the pulls
Re: LE3 383 dyno #s
I would have guessed the HP and TQ#'s would have been closer to each other also. What trans do you have?
The LE4 cam is just a LE3 cam for a 383. It has alot less duration than most think and is alot smaller than the 242/248 cams that some use in strokers.

Great power and Congrats......
LLoyd and Bret Good.....
Re: LE3 383 dyno #s
That is real nice HP numbers, i imagine the torque will come with improvement to the tune.
Lloyd - How does the LE4 cam compare to the cam brett brett did for me back in march/april for my TFS heads that you did and w/383?

Dam, that puppy is making power, but it shows you how lean it wants to be up top! As for the midrange it's too rich to make power there, I'm sure if you get that to 13:1 around 5000rpm it will fatten up the TQ there. That and getting the ignition map correct there will help big time, if it has any KR there it will lose TQ but the top end looks like it's correct for HP numbers.
This cam is not as much of a TQ cam as it is for making HP in the upper RPM. As you can see it does that well, no doubt the heads are working REALLY well up top to let them breathe that well to make peak HP that high.
Guess there's no point to going to a larger cam than the LE4
We were actually talking about trying one out.
