LE2 combo, you run w/ or w/o stall?

If you have the LE2, do you run a stall or not?

How much of a difference in the HP is there?

a higher stall will result in less peak horsepower, but will keep you in a higher powerband during almost all of your acceleration. You'll also get less cam surge because the car will be revving higher at slower speeds. With a higher stall, you'll burn more fuel, and have a lower top speed (unless you have 2.73s which would be bad with that cam).

All in all, a higher stall will improve performance and driveability.

3000 without a question, I'm sorry I didn't go with 3600.

i didnt think it would lose top speed? would it with 3.73's? and are 3600's bad for a stocker or no?

you lose rwhp, which means the potential top speed is decreased.

Re: LE2 combo, you run w/ or w/o stall?

higher stall = more slippage = more drivetrain losses. Ive never dynoed before and after a stall, i think some people can chime in here. I would expect an extra 5-7% drivetrain loss with a 3000 stall.

Most people dont ever take their cars to top speed and are happy with gains in acceleration and improved 1/4 mile times.

Depends on the stall. Some slip more than others especially the "off the shelf" stall converters. Yank, Precision Indusrties are a few to check into. A little pricier but definately worth the money if you want the most from your combo. Try edgeracingconverters.com They custom build for your application. I'll be getting a stall set around 3400-3600. These are 3 brands that Llyod Elliot has recommended looking at when I asked.

Guess, I shouldn't have said depends on the stall. I meant the brand. You may need a tranny cooler for the smaller diameter stalls but any performance /high hp, tq car should have one anyhow. Lots of heat and thats not a good thing
