LE2 cam -vs- 227/233
LE2 cam -vs- 227/233
I'm still up in the air on what cam I want to go with, but I may have it cut down to two...for now anyways
234/242/.110 - LE2 cam
227/233/.111 - cmotorsports
I'll most likely be going with a set of LE2 heads in the future, so the LE2 cam would make the most sense. For now, how do you think the LE2 will perform on stock castings?
I know it pulls from 2200-6500 RPM's with the matching heads, but I'm pretty sure it'll make some good power on stock castings as well. It has the RPM range of the 306 but makes more HP and TQ at peak and across the board.

Re: LE2 cam -vs- 227/233
It is basically a modified version of the GM847 camshaft, yielding more power all around... so basically it will be most likely be a rough cam, and restricted heavily by the stock heads, and the 227/233 would also be restricted, but since you plan on going for heads, I would recommend the LE2... though I would have the heads ported than a cam matched to those exactly!

It's all in the Milkman tune, baby.

Sounds nice. My relatively small XE 224/230 110lsa will surge quite badly if Im not careful. My tune is PCM for less and then modified by me b/c it didnt do the trick.
And dmoor8, tuning on a dyno will not affect drivability at all. That is of course unless you find a mustang dyno or one with a drum break and spend 5 hrs dialing it in.

Id expect my dynotune to cover it all for the money Id put up for it. Minimize cam surge and release any pent up HP through leaning out my a/f ratio, tuning for the cam with appropriate timing, etc
