le2 383 finally in, but.....

I finally got this thing together and in the car. It is loud as hell(cool for me, not the cops) anyhow.... I am sure I have to tune it abit, the idle is a tad high at 1100 rpm . I had to mess with the idle screw abit and open the plates, I may have gone too far. I need to ditch the loudmouth cause I'd make a winston cup car sound like your grandma's grocery getter.
Anyhow...... the problem I have is that the ABS inop light has now come on. About 10 seconds after intial start up it lights up. I did a complete rebuild ....383 , jet hots, 3400 stall, Lloyd Elliot ported heads, Lloyd/Bret 383 cam, 1.6 comp pro mag's, hi-tech pushrods, comp r lifters, needless to say if it could hook up, it would scream. It just lays rubber(gonna buy stock in goodyear) I haven't even ran it hard yet, as I want to get this and my idle speed resolved before I do anything else, well, cept buy an exhaust with a muffler....
Any explainations as to why the ABS inop light would come on would be appreciated

you're gonna need drag radials with the tq from a 383 and a 3400 stall to get it to hook at all from a launch. are you still on a 10 bolt rear end?

yeah, hoping the 10 bolt lives thru summer. No drag radials, yet. 12 bolt will be next year or if I break the 10 bolt early this year. I think the street tires will help it live as they spin very easy.Regardless, I know the 10 bolt has to go for more traction, but I already am close to 7k this year so I'd like to hold back.

did yo uplug in all the abs conns. when you put the eng. back in? there are two conns. with two wires in them for the front wheels that go right next to the headers, and the conn.s at the wheel speed sensors, and the few diff. plugs at the abs motorpack itself too. double check all those. poss. headers melted the harness to one of the front wheel speed sensors?

I can double check those but it did it immediately after initial start up. I did umplug them to do paint but am 99% positive everything is plugged in. I'll check those also.

I'd bet one of the plugs is not plugged in, or you burned the wire on the header on the passenger side(although it is hard to do but can happen).

Get a torsen diff and 3.42's(unless you want to sprin it to 7k) and the car should run 11.20's at 120mph no problem.

Check out sig for my 383/le2 times on a shakedown pass. Never did run it again, but it would've been a 10.9x-11.0x at 122+mph setup on motor.
