LE2.1HL setup installed and running

Picked up the car tonight, she runs!

The car is running rich on cold starts, the PCMForless chip is locked
and I'm either hitting a rev limiter or my shift points are lower than
I thought (~5200 rpm). I'm going to talk to Alvin about getting that
fixed, or just do my own tune and forget about mail order all together.

Other than that, the car absolutely hauls ***.
Plenty of low and mid range power, I was pleasently surprised.
I think my street tires finally get a solid grip on the pavement around 75mph
The idle is bad ***, there's no denying that this is a cammed car.

Overall, I'm very happy with the install, and once I get these issues
ironed out she's going to pay the dyno a visit, then off to the track.
I'll be sure to post numbers and vids.

LE2 heads are very streetable, I highly reccomend them over the LE1.
Better parts and better flow. Add the cam of your choice and run with it.
Brett can custom design a (or select one of the standard grind) cam for any application;

Some of the grinds I've seen so far
LE1
LE1 EM (Emmisions grind)
LE1 N20 (N20 Applications, similar to LE1HL)
LE1 HL (High-lift, torque curve similar to LE2 with a lower peak, perfect for 350)
LE2
LE3
LE4 (design for 383)

Never heard of it.
That's the thing with custom grinds, so many choices LOL

I also saw one labeled "B-RAD" or something like that, for use with 1.7:1 rockers.
I don't like the idea of using that high of a ratio, but apparently someone did and had decent success with it.

Custom is the whole idea, right?

Maybe the "B-RAD" cam was for a customer named Brad? Not necessarily, but it is a way to ID a custom cam.

In many applications high ratio rockers have a lot more plusses than minuses. Cup engines get over 2:1 on some applications I believe. ProStock with valve lifts over 1.0 inches pretty much have to use high rocker ratios.

Although the loads on the pushrod and lifter are proportionately higher for high ratio rockers, the travel and therefore the acceleration, velocity and inertia have less effects. Bigger, stiffer pushrods do a lot more good than their extra weight does harm.

I didn't mean to say it's wrong and won't work. (because he posted nice numbers)

He's a nice guy and the post should not come off as a flame in any way.
I think it's awesome that someone wants to try something new.

And yes, I think his name was Bradley roadtrip120

FWIW I haven't found anything better than a 1.6 for a LT1 hyd roller. Solid setups can benefit more from increased rocker arm, 1.9+ is commonplace.

I'm just funning with you a little, James. No offense intended. After skimming your link (thanks) I remembered that he already had the 1.7s and wanted to use them. I remembered a talk with Bret about the cam name. Memory is the first thing to go..or is it the second?

Now what was it I had for breakfast this morning?

Can't change shift points on a 93 car through computer..need to get a kit and tear into the tranny.

That's correct, weights and springs are needed.
But to hit 5200 and have it "bounce" back to ~5000, then shift has me thinking that it may not be the tranny.
Then again, I guess I never paid attention to my stock shift points.

There's a whole crapload of power between 5200 and 6400 that I can't tap right now.
Shifting at 5000-5200 with a 3200 stall LOL oh joy

Shift the car manually. If your feeling this sensation in second gear only it is likely a WOT TCC lockup. Something I do sometimes to improve MPH at the track. IF you run 1st all the way out and go into second it will lock just at the right moment and you won't feel anything unusual.
