LE1 h/c track times
Well i guess my primary concern would be a high 11 second street car. My reason for going LE1 is there obviously is alot of power there, look at ulakovic22 numbers. I would think that by taking the money that i would save from going LE1 to LE2 and putting that money towards suspension and a stronger rearend, high 11's would then be in the hands of me driving it well enough.
Call Lloyd and discuss your goals, he is excellent to talk to and he will take all the time you need to get the best package that fits your needs.
If I can ever get to the dyno it will be interesting to see what kind of power is made with a baby cam (Crane 104227) and ported heads. I don't really know what the difference is between a LE1 and Ai 185cc CNC head.
You can still get a LE2 cam to go with the LE1 heads. Obviuosly there would be some power left on the table. LE gives you the choice of custom cams with his packages. There are people on this board who are doing it.

also, since javier was a nut hair away from running 11s with a cam only essentially full weight (minus skinnies and drag wheels, right javier?) why in the hell wouldn't adding a set of heads and a similar cam net a better time?
Thats what I did.
I wanted the benefits of additional porting and bigger valves with better springs. However I did not want to rev to 6.5K RPM like the LE2 typically wants. I end up gaining a few more HP with the LE2 heads along with a boost in reliability and no real need to further upgrade if I decide to go even bigger cam down the road.

Who has a full weight and full bolt on lt1 running mid 12's??? i'll buy it!
Edit: i could see someone from a drier cooler climate maybe getting there with full bolt ons, full wieght and with 3600 stall, slicks and 4:11's... and when i think mid 12 i think 12.4-12.6...

why not go the other way around and get LE2 heads with an LE1 cam?

For that matter, my car is heavier now than it was back then with a Ford 9 back there.
I think people just settle for times... I never settled. Never will.
I am gunning for 11's with mine although a high MPH is more important to me. I've got a set of good flowing LE1's with a really healthy sized BRE cam, just wating on the intake to come back so I can get everything put together. I've got about all the bolt ons. My car is a full weight M6 car and weighed 3460 when I weighed it 8-9 years ago... it seemed a bit lite to me so I dont know how accurate that scale was. But I am itching to get it together.
