im gettin all my parts ready so i can start to put everything together next month and just want to make sure i have everything, i've gone over this list so many times but feel like i'm missing some stuff
94 lt1 a4

le1 heads
ported intake
cc306 cam
1.6 rr's
pushrods
guideplates
lifters
58mm tb
cai
pacesetter lt's
3000 stahl
head gaskets and intake gaskets
thermostat
4.10 rear
36lb injectors
ewp

what else should i be getting to make sure i have everything i need to complete the project.

yea, and what size rockers you get? 3/8 or 7/16?

A tune, arp rocker studs, timing chain, a shift kit to help the stall out.

i'm thinking the heads probably come with springs, call me crazy here. timing chain is a good idea, arp studs are a good idea, shift kit is a good idea...definitely tune after. other than that your list looks good

i have it already, thats the estimated stahl number, im sure it will be around 3200 or so with full weight, but it still needs to be streetable, she's nto a trailer queen yet

Also get yourself some arp headbolts or at the very least new stock replacements. Don't reuse the stockers.

I would leave a lot of room for odds and ends. They never seem to end once you take things apart.

Everyone already mentioned the stuff you want to pick up.

couple of things I didn't see mentioned:

make sure you get the seals for the coolant crossover on the back of the heads. if you have never had these off they may be worn and possibly leak when you put it back together. trust me, you dont want to be reaching back there fixing it if it leaks.

you're going to need new waterpump gaskets and header gaskets too. get a timing cover gasket set as well.

what are you doing for the rest of the exhaust? pacesetter y-pipe? custom fabbed exhaust? your stock exhaust or existing exhaust probably wont match up to the y-pipe exit location.

seems like you have everything covered. make sure you CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN and CLEAN some more. clean things twice. everything should be damn near spotless.

do you have all the fluids?

oh and also what about a transmission cooler? they are cheap insurance against transmission overheating.

Why did you pick the 306?
I really think you'd be happier with more modern lobes and slightly less duration for a stock bottom end and LE1 heads.

On the steam tube deal, iirc when I was building my engine I just bought it as an assembly with the banjo bolts and all the washers for like 35 bucks from sdparts. At the time it was cheaper than buying it piece at a time.

You will also want to pick up an assortment of sealants and silicones. Timing chain cover seals would be a good idea too.
