Which LE package should I get

I've been talking to Lloyd for about a week now and I cannot decide which of his packages is going to be best for me. All things taken into account, the LE2 is going to cost $850 more than the LE1. This includes rear gears and bigger fuel injectors. I worked out the total $/hp, and the LE1 will cost $20/hp, but the LE2 costs $26.66/hp. I think that if I do the LE1, I will get the bigger valves, which will give and extra 10 hp. The last thing I want to do though is not buy enough and regret it later. I also figure that the LE1.5 isn't really gonna be worth it cause I will still need the gears and injectors, so I might as well spend the extra $250 and get the full LE2. But, with the money I save by doing th LE1, I will can due the suspension I've been needing. So, any suggestions?

not to take anything away from Lloyd's work, but why don't you start with the bolt-on stuff first? Get the car ready for a high powered engine and it will work better with the stock engine.

I took my 96 impala from running mid 15s to high 12s without ever taking off the valve covers. This is from the lower performing iron headed LT1 in a very heavy car. After doing all this, any engine mods that I do will just work better.

I've already got everything but gears and TB. I mean, I've got the money to do the LE2, but I could spend that money on suspension, wheels, etc.

if you have been "needing" new suspension, then i would get that first. always put "need" before "want."

when the time comes to get the head and cam, i say go for no regrets and put the package you want on the first time. even if it does cost a little more. i'd rather save up longer and get the package i want rather than have to spend twice as much doing the job right the second time. my .02.

Yeah, I'm thinking I might as well save up a little longer and be sure I have no regrets.

He is so right. Im currently getting a LE3 from Lloyd with LT4 heads and this will be the third heads and cam setup I've had on my stroker. I've wasted so much money. Do yourself a favor and do it right the first time. I would get the LE package before suspension but thats me. I prefer power over everything else

get the package you know you want, even if you have to save up a bit more for it. also, get some suspension parts so the power you put down stays on the ground.

Re: Which LE package should I get

I would get the package you want because your going to kick yourself if you go back into the motor. Figure out what you want and then do it, Once. The car with supporting mods(suspension, driveline, rear) should run faster and more consistant than the car with only motor work. As for the tb look on advanced inductions site and look at the numbers that cars with stock intakes and tb's are putting down. At some point it will become a restriction but can be addressed later. Same for the injectors, they will be a 90% duty cycle, a lot guys haven't stepped up their 24's with heads and cam.

Suspension and bolt ons should be on the car first if you are worried about going fast at the track.

Personally I like the LE3 heads with a LE2 cam if you have the gear and stall for it.
