bad *** #'s. That cam is a lil larger than my LE1 cam. It would be closer to the LE2 cam.

I am not sure how old the heads are but I find improvements every month or so.

I am sure the car pulls hard until you let off the gas.

Wow, thats sweet. I am looking forward to getting my LE1 setup. By that time it will probably be making even more power.

Re: LE 1 dyno nubmers with new BRE 2.3 cam

The heads are used, i bought them off of a guy that had them sent to Lloyd for porting. Thanks i am content with the numbers, for now. As you can see from the graph it flatens off up top, but never drops off. I feel that something is restricing the air flow into the motor, because it acts like it cant make any more power. If it made peak power it would fall off afterwards, looking at the graph it doesn't. I am going back and rechecking my work, it has to be something small.

I dont have the flow numbers the guy i bought them from has them still. I how straight from Lloyd that they are his heads from a year and a half ago. The motor they came off of had a piston let go, resulting in a pitted head surface. I had to have the heads milled more than i wanted to clean them up.

The intake only has a ported opening for the 58mm TB, the intake itself has NOT been touched.

The car make great power. I never had a base line dyno, but the car always ran stronger than others with less mods and same weight. I don't know if it was a factory freak or just low mileage, but as of right now it putting down some serious power and torque. The hp should come up closer to 415 soon.

Joe (Kryckter) blew his stock bottomend up of the TSP dyno with 400rwhp and a 150 shot!! The tires and clutch didn't spin/slip, resulting in 600rw pounds of torque to the rods. Factory rods are only rated at 600 at the motor. 600 at the rear is like 700 at the crank. No wonder it let go. Now if the tires would have spun i think it would have held. I rode in the car moments before we put it on the dyno with a 100 shot and it felt amaizing. He rebuilt his bottomend forged with a 355 and he put down 415rwhp and 381 rwtq. Thats why i feel i should put down closer to 415hp.

Its not much of a drag car, no drag strip with in 100 mile here at Amarillo. We pretty much street race, LS1's have there work cut out for them with another LE/BRE setup running around. So don't expect to many track times from this setup, but if you wanta make a roadtrip we can set something up from a 25 punch. First one to 130mph

Most of Lloyd's cars are daily drivers, not full out track cars. Thats why you can only expect average track times in average air from some of these cars, reguarless of the impressive dyno numbers

Thanks all ,Shane

Let us know what kind of times you get out of it. I plan on running pretty much the exact same setup in the future.

Pace long tube headers, with y-pipe and a open cut out

Amarillo's track shut down early this year, the owner moved back to MD and the bank now own's the track. They have no plan's at this time of reopening it back up. realistate is what i am hearing around here.

I was happy with the TQ numbers from this cam too.

I talked with Lloyd last night and he said he has found some more power in the heads, I'm not sure how old Splits LE1 heads are though.

lol, feel like we are talking about computer parts. I havent even got mine together yet and it is "outdated"

LOL

Good justification if this were a supra board.

Congrats on the numbers though.

These are some killer numbers, congrats! Do us a favour and find a track somewhere, and post that 11 sec timeslip!

I'm in the same boat. My LE2 setup is outdated (and installed on a forged 355 on an engine stand) - but I don't think there's an earth shattering amount of power that's missing anywhere. Even somewhat dated, it's still a solid bang for the buck package.
