LE 1 dyno nubmers with new BRE 2.3 cam

Just got back from the dyno

PCm for less tune for LE setups

392 rwhp
371 rwtq

Joe Young (Kryckter) tune
403rwhp
383rwtq

Picked up 12 ft .lb accross the entire rpm range !!!! Thanks Joe for the dyno tune, money well spent.

The car made 398hp at 5600rpm , at 6500 it made 403hp. Something is holding it back on the top end, the car never fell off of the top end. The hp just stayed flat like something was restricting it from making any more. But i was still pleased with the numbers, the torque was really high, for the hp so i know it could put down more if i can get the setup up dialed in. I think 415rwhp is doable.

Thanks Bret for the awesome cam, Joe for the tune, and Lloyd for the heads.

Re: LE 1 dyno nubmers with new BRE 2.3 cam

Just for clarification sake... It's LE1 heads and a custom BRE cam. Or the same BRE cam in the LE1 kit?

Was that HP rating with the 150 shot?

The 2.3 cam it the 3rd version of the LE2 cams

Haven't sprayed the 150 shot on the dyno, but its pilled and ready to go for any of the C6 Z06 vette's here in town.

Very impressive for an $1100 heads/cam combo

Can you please post the graph?

Not a ton, the 2.2 was working well but I wanted to try something out since he's using N2O too.

I was happy with the TQ numbers from this cam too.

I talked with Lloyd last night and he said he has found some more power in the heads, I'm not sure how old Splits LE1 heads are though.

Re: LE 1 dyno nubmers with new BRE 2.3 cam

Congrats, Awesome numbers guys both Lloyd and Brett for keeping up with LT1 head/cam technology. I knew my old LE1heads/cam combo made close to 400rwhp but never had it dynoed. I don't think it was making that kind of power though. Now go get some track numbers while we still have some good weather. later Clint

Those are awesome #s

Couple of questions..What exhaust was is dynoed with? Are those SAE corrected #s? Was any (other than for the TB) intake porting done?

Thats impressive!

What is the power band of that cam?

I have a new stock shortblock that I've been thinking about using for a H/c set up untill my solid roller gets done. I've been wondering what hp I could make without much rpm since it's stock.

Re: LE 1 dyno nubmers with new BRE 2.3 cam

Thats amazing that he's making that kind of power off of LE1 heads and the LE2 cam with a stock displacement.

I wonder what a full LE3 setup with a 396 would get on a 6 speed. I am seriously considering doing that when I mod up.

Split. What were the flow numbers on those heads? I have a set of LE3s that are going on my 355 right now, i just want to get an idea of what kind of numbers to expect out of the car once its finished.
