LE 1.5 dyno numbers

I just got my car finally finished with LE 1.5 head/cam setup (LE1 heads with LE2 cam, springs, etc). 355 bottom end stock crank, mahle pistons, eagle I beam rods about 11.2:1. Ran it on the dyno and it made 385 rwhp and 374 rwtq at 4500 before the fuel pump won't provide fuel pressure. Just wondering how much more i might be able to get out of it after i put the fuel pump in , I'm using the Bosch turbo porshe pump modded to fit cause that pump rocks.

Re: LE 1.5 dyno numbers

You got more in it if your running out of fuel pressure at 4500rpm. Guys running setups like yours are over 400rwhp easy.

How long ago did you get the setup?

Re: LE 1.5 dyno numbers

the car is somewhat tuned on the dyno but not fully since pressure dropped off. I just got the heads and cam a month ago and finally got it all together. I'm hoping for 400rwhp when i'm done, my dyno shop is real good so they should be able to do it.

Re: LE 1.5 dyno numbers

Good #'s considering they are at 4500 RPM, lol.

I am sure there is another 20-30 HP in it since the HP #'s are gonn a climb to 6400 RPM or so. The TQ #'s might be pretty well done. It might gain another 5 ft lbs but I would think that is it. Should still hang on for a while and be a nice flat TQ curve but the peak should not be much higher than what you have.

Kryckter had the same heads/cam so you might compare his graph to this one up until the fuel pump died and get an idea what it will look like. There are alot of variables like headers, exhaust, TB, tuning, etc, etc so the only way to REALLY know would be to get the pump in and see what it ends up at. Kryckters graoh might give you some "guesstimte" until then though.

Come on guys....I'll say what your thinking.....

I'm a little comfused as how you have more hp than tq at any rpm below 5252rpms?...Your looking at something wrong on your sheet....unless you mean torque at 4500 rpms and did not give us your rpms at which you make 385rwhp. Tq is always higher than hp below 5252 rpms....I have no doubt your combo will work real good as I have lloyd ported heads also keep us informed as to how it works out..........

Re: LE 1.5 dyno numbers

got the pump in and dyno'd again. Made 400.3 rwhp and 385rwtq at 6350 rpms. We could have gone more aggressive but its a daily driver sooo.

The tq numbers are what they are, i'm fully capable of reading a dyno sheet

Re: LE 1.5 dyno numbers

Pretty good #'s.

385 RWTQ with out a stroker is pretty bad ***. Alot of 383's are happy with these TQ #'s.

Most of these set ups have a REAL fat TQ curve, could you post up a graph?

Re: LE 1.5 dyno numbers

Say we were to toss some LE3 heads up on to this guys motor, with the same cam, compression and all that. What kind of numbers could possibly get with the better flowing heads. Just trying to get an idea of what i might put down in the next month or so when everythings done.

Thanks
Steve

Re: LE 1.5 dyno numbers

If they are some recently done LE3 heads with the 2.05/1.60 valves, you should see 10-15 HP or so increase with this cam.

A larger cam (at least mid 230 duration or larger) and a 6800-7000 RPM peak would show more gain. Add more cubes and you would see more gain too.
