last hope for my car, any input wanted
you may have seen some of my posts about my 93 a4 and its massive loss of power and gas consumption. search by my name if you havent and you'll get plenty. this has been going on since a few months after we bought it over a year ago.
to sum it up again, ive replaced: fuel filter, plugs, wires, coil, opti, coil module, o2's, 2 leaky injectors, intake gaskets, pcv, battery, 1 missing vaccum line.
checked: fuel pressure, pump relay, knock retard, CAT, egr, ran seafoam, all sensors and related relays, everything checked out fine.
has been to the shop 3 times and they have no idea what it is. i also took it to a local gm dealer and they scanned it and tried to come up with something. the guy said it was something internal like a cracked valve spring, blown piston ring, leaky/sticky valve. no codes were found. the shop told me things that contradicted what the dealer said so i dont know who to believe at this point.
its like it doesnt rev up fast enough and im not able to spin the tires in any gear, even in the pouring rain. if i hold it around 3k in 1st or 2nd then mash it, that is when it is the most responsive. i thought it was the tranny but it doesnt rev up fast in neutral either and it shifts fine.
i have no idea what to think at this point. the only thing that i know is wrong is, my intake elbow is broken where it connects through the throttle body but i was told that it wouldnt have this much of an effect.
im so frustrated, i have spend thousands of dollars and nothing has worked. if i cant get it this last time then im just gonna leave it go and hope nothing gives out real bad.
if ANYONE could offer anything, it would greatly appreciated. ive done all i can think of.
i apologize ahead of time if i forgot to mention anything, theres just been too much.

I guess if you have Speed Density rather than MAF, the leaky elbow won't make a difference. If you had a MAF and there was any leakage, it would certainly make a big difference.
If you have fuel, air, spark, timing, compression and oil pressure you should be good to go.
Good luck.

A broken intake elbow is not helping matters. You are at least pulling dirty air into your engine.
You need someone knowledgeable with a scan tool to ride around with you to watch or log some data. You should also get a compression test if you think it is something mechanically wrong.

wires have been replaced. map has been checked.
i ran with a diagnostic program on a laptop.
the shop "probed" each cylinder to see if one did not sound right. they said this would eliminate the need for a compression test.
