I fought that battle also. I found an END WRENCH about 5-6 inches long that had the opening 90 degrees to the handle. I'm guessing the max torque I was able to get on the header bold was 30-35 lbs but I was able to get the bold installed using this wrench. I tried numerous other combinations including a 1/4 inch ratchet and several flex drive set-ups. The end wrench did the job.

With my MAC mid-lenghts I was able to get it with a normal box wrench (though it took forever!). A little trick I use now is that I gut the 7/16 wrench in half so that it is much shorter and i can get a longer swing with it. hope that helps.

That bolt in a major PITA! I also tried many combinations (from top vs. bottom, sockets vs. wrenches), and even with my stage 8s I still had problems. As mentioned above, best solution is to go get a cheap open end wrench and cut it in half. Then crawl up on your intake, reach back there and use your thumb to push down on it (really sucks when it slips off). Good Luck!

I had some trouble installing my headers as well, it can be troublesome. It takes lots of time and commitment. Also lots of patience. Ebay sells a socket for removing and adding sparkplugs. Good Luck!
