Lack of power at low rpm's.

Ok, everything is running fine with the car until about 2 days ago. Im getting a off and on somewhat eratic idle, its not so much to the point that it will die, but it does make it sound like the car is loping, it comes off and on when the car is hot or cold. If I floor the car from any gear, it will kinda of sputter for a mere half second or so before taking off and then everything is fine. Im thinking I have some spark arc because I saw some wires were burnt a little from the headers. Anything else I should check out or is this a symptom of sparks arcing? Thanks.

well if you wires are damaged, then they will need to be relplaced. This will cause all of the above issues you are getting. You mine as well replace the plugs while your at it, if they are due.

Replace the wires, be sure they arent making contact with the headers/manifolds. Start her up. If it runs good, then problem solved. If it runs bad still. Continue troubleshooting. For me, changing out my front o2 sensors cured my idle issues.

Good Luck,
Mike

O2's are one month old, plugs are 2 and so are the wires. Replaced the opti two months ago as well. Im guess its the plugs but was just curious as to what else to check out this weekend. It doesn't seem to happen when the rpm's climb, just sudden hesitation when going WOT from low rpm.

Gotta be wires if opti is fine. My car was idleing really rough before, and I replaced the driver side wires, and it cured it. To this day I cant find any burn marks on the old wires, and they were only like 2 months old also. Go figure.

Do the driver side wires first, cause they are the easiest ofcourse....then do passenger.

Bit different for me, as mine is in a thirdgen, both are easy . I'll just replace them all and see how it goes, thank you all for your input.

Well regardless you need to pull those wires that made contact with the headers. Even if it didnt burn all the way through. Some how it will still go and arc off the headers. I didnt think so, but when I cut into the wire I pulled off, I noticed traces of where it was actually arcing.

You can also take a look at the fuel filter as well.
