L98 Intake on LT1

will the l98 manifold work on an LT1? I know the bolt holes wont line up but is there anything else? What needs to be done to make it work?

Anyone have any idea how much it would be to extrude hone the l98 manifold?

The TPI manifold flow's for ****. You don't want it

BTW - Why did you go with shorties over LT's?

don't waste your time. The L98 manifold runs out of nuts very early in the rpm range...

My shorties were $30 total coated. I know I know about the intake but I want more torque for burning out. My goal is to have 2 intakes and swap them out for different seasons. I know everyone here builds up there cars for the track but you don't have to criticise before you understand why. My car is a dd. An extrude honed l98 with aftermarket runners will make great torque and hp to 5500 rpm. Just what I need-may not be what you want. I just asked if it can work and that is all I want to know. I dont plan to rev past 5500 rpm anyway and my car is an A4.

Have you checked to make sure it will fit under the hood & cowl? The L98 TPI intake sits higher than the LT1's.

I think it will fit under the cowl no problem but the hood probably not. I have a 2" cowl hood though. I think it would be interesting to see how a extrude honed l98 would perform on an lt1. I know they flow like **** stock but the mod bug has bitten me hard lol and I can't resist tweaking. If I don't like it I can always take it off and sell it-probably make back what I got it for, intake was free anyway. Extrude honed they aren't that bad up to 5500 after that they are dead but hp and tq are available in much more plentiful numbers up to 5500=more fun on the street.

Accel Super Ram

.....and leave the manifold on; it's too much of a PITA to go swapping the intake every x number of months.

Ah, the Lingenfelter was/is my goal but $1300 give me a break. I would rather spend that getting the stealth ram to fit and get head ported as I would still have money left over. The super ram is really ideal for my setup but the price is outrageous at least imho.

Idiots? Yeah, we know.

Yeah, because the LT1s' powerband is not streetable. That's a good one. I didn't realize all this time I was driving a dedicated drag strip monster.

Re: L98 Intake on LT1

How do you need "more torque" for a burnout

Hold brakes, spin tires, proceed to burnout, proceed to continue burnout until tires explode. If this is your goal, a stock Z28 would do the trick.

Please, do this moronic act to a Honda or something else instead....

No way, don't you understand??? This is a daily driver, not a top fuel car! That LT1 intake is way too radical for the street
