Are KYB AGX Adjustable Shocks Any good?
Are these any good? How much do they run? Does anyone run them? how do ya like them? How would these and a set of stock take off's do? or would they be better suited with something else such as a pro-kit springs?
I'm not lookin to go all out, I need something that will perform well yet not rape me up butt with the prices. I found the kyb's all 4 for 345 to my door, that doesnt sound bad seeing summit wants 368, I just wonder how good they are? I'd get stock take off's if I really had to but I rather upgrade somewhat... Ya know?
I have them on my ls1.They work fine with stock springs and up to maybe one inch drop.I have slp eibachs and they work ok with them..but need to dial them all the way stiff so my headers and cutout don't bottom out all the time. I went with them over bilsteins or slp bilsteins as I like they can be adjusted different for track and street whatever..its handy.I might have got hals but they are very very pricey..the kyb were like 377 US when I got them but that was year or more ago.
Slp company street legal performance sells some mellower eibachs and bilsteins..they have like 3/4 inch drop and the shocks are a bit softer than the standard bilsteins and a bit cheaper. They were used on like the firehawks. They give a bit better handling and looks without extreme drops and no big penalty in ride either.Like I said I almost went with the slp bilstein shocks but wanted the adjustable feature.Think tokiyo or something also makes adjustable shocks for our cars as does koni and hal qa1 but the last two are big bucks..
I like my AGXs.
They are a nice alternative to expensive Hals.
After living with them for awhile I don,t think they are the best drag shock you could get but for street driving they are a pretty decent shock.
If your doing some serious drag racing you might be better off with Koni drag shocks (also very expensive) or Hals at least for the front.
I have no complaints using them in the rear for drag racing.

im using kyb agx's up front and tokico illumina's in the rear, the tokicos are 5 way adjustable and the kybs are 8 way. i absolutley love them, they are great and you can dail them in to your needs, driving style, comfort etc. i woudl not hesitate to go with another set of these in the future.
Sounds like what I wanted to hear. Thanks Guys.
For $345 to my door not a bad deal for all 4
These outta be good with stock spring take-off's
