kyb agx adjustable people inside for shock tuning
Re: kyb agx adjustable people inside for shock tuning
These shocks are not the best for drag racing, I have them at all four corners and when I installed them I thought they would be great for drag racing but I was wrong. They make a great street handling shock in my opinion but drag racing isn,t the best thing they do.
I have found with my extremely limited track testing that the fronts should be on 1 and the rears stiffer at 6 or 7, I have pulled my best 60s with them set like that but its only a 1.90. The best thing to do is get yourself to a test and tune on nite where its not real busy and experiment with different adjustments, keep good records of how the car performs at different settings to see what is optimal for your car. Track conditions on different days will affect this but you can get a good feel for where they work best for your setup.

I haven't been to the track since the install of mine, but i was thinking all the way soft in the front and back. I figured it would aid in weight transfer. I could be wrong.

Here are the setting on the KYB AGXs, as given to me by KYB tech Dept:
<<With #2 being Factory at a relative value of 100,
#1 = 95 (5% softer than Factory
#2 = 100 (Factory damping force)
#3 = 107.5 (7.5% firmer than Factory)
#4 = 115 (15% firmer than Factory)(GR-2)
#5 = 143.5 (43.5% firmer than Factory)
#6 = 172 (72% firmer than Factory)
#7 = 197.5 (97.5 firmer than Factory)
#8 = 223 (123 % firmer than Factory)>>
Unless you plan on corning carving, just leave the fronts on the #1 setting.
If you really want a good adjustable drag shock for the front end, you'd be much better off selling the AGX's and going to a shock up front like the Hals, or something similar that has much softer settings than the KYBs
