not sure

with the gasket there is no way it could be hitting, spun it up to 6300 rpms it is mainly when it goes into 2nd and a load is put on it.

Ill know how bad it was in a day or two. Waiting for the cherry picker to get here so i can take it out the top. Im pretty sure ive got some trashed pistons cause I drove it with detonation problems for so long. Im just putting in a whole new stock short block with stock ported heads and hotcam kit...then ill build up the current busted shortblock into a forged stroker...for when my new stock bottem end breaks. HOPEFULLY, getting rid of the detonation in the process.

There is guys running flat tops on 93 octane and this thing has dished.

n2opoweredta, tell me what you have/had..

what motor components it had, pistons? Crank? Rods? Cam?etc...
When was it detonating? With a load, in 2nd? tell me about it please.

putting a new double roller chain in, doubt...

that will help, but worth a try and a csi pump while I am in it.

whether it should need it or not, you need to try it. Forget the octane booster though, run unleaded race gas in there and see if it helps. If it does, my guess is the setup isn't quite what you thought it was...

Do a search, there has been a lot of talk about knock and stroker motors

what do you do Hit search and put stroker knock?

Has -12cc pistons, what if compression is too high? Water injection?

deck has not been touched and was not measured.

Compression is?????

I come up with under 11:1 so it can NOT...

be compression too high.
