knock sesor...

how bad is it for your engine to drive the car with the knock sensor at 4-6 degrees? I am tempted to drive 100 miles to get my car tuned on a dyno....having problems getting the obd1 cabled for the laptop.....dont wanna miss my dyno date...any inputs?

4 to 6 degrees of FALSE knock retard... I don't think you'd have a problem even just keeping it at that and not fixing it. Sure, you'll be down on power but as far as damaging something, I don't see it as an issue.

I personally wouldn't think twice about driving just 100 miles with 6 degrees of knock retard and just do it I might not get on it if I didn't know what was up though.

If you think it is real then definitely don't step on it and be listening for detonation. Even if real, and I COULDN'T hear pinging, I personally would drive 100 miles

I agree with Brent. There's a lot of guys driving around with knock and they haven't figured it out yet.
