Knock Sensor Bypass
Knock Sensor Bypass
My engine gives off a False knock between 4800 to 5100rpm, which is pulling timing in the upper rpm. I tried 92 gas with octane booster, and 100 octane Racing gas, and both with same result. Tried to desensitize knock sensors but still have the problem. It seem like there is part or some parts combination that is causing the false knock during that rpm.
Anyone know how to bypass the knock sensors? I heard that if you just disconnect the sensors, it will go into a "safe mode" and retard the timing.
Anyone know how to make a bypass switch set up?

Re: Knock Sensor Bypass
You are positive its a false knock? If so then you should only have to unplug the knock sensor on the block and should be fine. I had to do that to my car for a little while. I didn't like doin it, but it worked for a short period of time. I would definetely try to figure out what it is..might be a rattling from the exhaust of perhaps a rocker gettin a little loose.
Re: Knock Sensor Bypass
I installed a switch on the wire which connected from my ecm to my km, in which would switch between the real km and a resistor in which showed the ecm no knock. Do a search you should be able to find it somehere.
