Knock retard slowed me down???

I don't know why but for some reason my i think my opti was making me have knock retard. The reason i think this is simple. My opti was cracked and going out.... for about 2 months my knock retard got increasingly worse and my car finally stopped working... So i replaced the opti and all was better. Well now that i have my car back i have noticed a little more get up and go in its step and there is no longer any knock retard on the scanmaster. My question is this, I was throwing atleast a 3.0 knock retard on a bad opti when i ran the 13.40 @ 107.3 in my sig.... do you think that this affected my time/ trap? I am thinking it did but i was looking for some input from you guys. Thanks.

most definately, if the computer recieves knock from the sensor then it will pull a good amount of timing which will affect performance

get to the track and get some new times now

knock retard really hurts performance. I was hitting 6 deg last trip out to the dragstrip. Best time was 13.34 @ 102
Now I have the KS tricked out to 0 knock.
Best time from last Wed. was a 13.20 @ 105

Do you think unevenly spraying injectors may cause bad knock at certain rpm's? My car for the most part does not have a lot of knock. But at some RPMs whe looking at the freescan graphs it will read 1-10 knock at times! Usually when getting on it...

You need to eliminate false knock from real knock. You can try some race gas (100+ octane) and check it. If it goes away, you have real knock. If not, you have false knock. Thats a good start.
116 sunoco didnt make mine go away so I have false, but I cheated and just jumped out my sensor with a resistor. I guess my knock sensor is now my ears.
