knock retard help

knock retard help

I'm getting 4 to 10 degrees of knock retard on my Scanmster @ WOT after I seafoamed the engine. I have no clue what's causing it?

Well, you didn't include a sig or any info whatsoever about your car. My crystal ball is foggy today, so some info about your ride/mods would be a good start.

Run it with race gas to see if the knock goes away; if it doesn't then you've got false knock. Brett Fraker's website has a link to installing a knock desensitation circuit to help with false knock.

If you are running the stock pcm tune, there's a minimal chance that you are facing a real knock issue.
Anyway, a knock will occour with a lean condition and/or excessive timing advance. Theoretically, if you have bad plugs/wires, or suffer from lean condition (fuel pump/filter/pressure regulator/injector failure) you could be detonating.
