Knock module torque affect engine performance?

Knock module torque affect engine performance?

Had an engine builder say that the torque spec for the KM install had to be nuts on spec or it would hurt performance by giving the false readings.

Myth: plausible or busted ?

Makes no sense. The cover doesn't hold the KM in there, the plastic clips do. Heck, you could leave the cover off if you wanted to. Just snug the screws on there.

mech. must be talking about the knock sensor i always instal them with teflon tape to help make them "not so sensitive" as far as being TQ to exact spec no dice!
those are the same ones that think the government put these computers in our cars to monitor our movement! LOL

Yea, after posting I figured thats what he meant. I just used some thread sealant on mine and tightened it down by hand.
