Factory specs for filtering is around 70-90%. That is what the factory filters can filter out and are relatively good. These K&N filters and Mobil 1 filters filter only about 30%. The reason they flow so good is because it doesnt filter down to the smallest microns. It pretty much like taking a normail screen and running oil through it. Its just not getting the small particles and in turn you get the higher flow rate. The best filtering filters out there are normally AC Delco for our cars.
But my point is that you don't need a filter to stop the small particles in these engines, hence the fact that my wear numbers are very low in my oil analysis, and I'm using the K&N oil filter.

In a hard driven car, better oil flow is more critical than finer filtration.

The oil that Red96Lt1 says will mess up your MAF Sensor is the oil that you put on the K&N air filter. The K&N is a "recharable air filter", you clean it out/blow it out and put new oil oil on it. The oil is very runny and purple.

So yes after you clean out the filter and put new oil on it after a week or so spray your baby resistors on the MAF sensor with electrical cleaner.

no actually there's two MAF's on the back side of the crankcase. if you use K&N it will destroy these MAF's!!!

I have the K&N oil filter on my car, not sure how much better it is but it is worth it just for the socket adapter.

Its where there is a part made onto the end of the oil filter that allows you to put a socket on to loosen the oil filter, kind of a nice thing on the end of a filter to help you get those tight filters off
