Keyless Entry?

Hi all,

My 1994 Z didn't come with keyless entry, but as scooby explained to me, all Z's came with the framework in place. Does this mean I only need a matched module and remote to install and use keyless entry? Is there a definitive guide or have any of you done this before?

Thanks!

bump

I really need some advice on this.. I've looked at diagrams I can't quite follow, and read a few posts that don't quite explain what I need to install keyless entry. I saw that there's a black box which i assume is the basic framework, but what I don't know is what to buy (just a receiver module and remote?) and where to buy it from. Anyone's .02 is welcome.. :\

I would be verifying that the wiring was present before buying anything.

ive seen a few go on ebay, they come witht hte boxes and remotes and they basically plug in i think. keep in mind they were used. do you have power door locks? if so then why not get a aftermarket alarm system and use there remote instead.

Shoebox, you're a genius. I was so focused on the factory system, I didn't even think car alarm. My wife works at a Toyota dealership where they install Viper security systems - I may go for something along those lines. Yes, it has power door locks.

Thanks!

I think you mean 93formula. An aftermarket system will have way better keyless range, too.

the stock system works fine for me. But range sucks. I have to be about 5 steps away from my car to work....
