ill be running the XE 224/230 on stock heads and shorty headers to give you and idea of the power im making.

so my question is.. has anyone had any problems with the hub slipping after pulling it on and off? i have everything i need for this install either at my house or on the way to my house so this might delay my cam a while if you guys think its necessary to have a keyed hub. torquing the stocker down good should keep it from slipping shouldnt it?

 

no, i have had my hub on and off several times and i don't see how slipping would be a problem. infact last night i had to pull it again and it was just as hard to get off then as it was the first time, except of course i now know what i am doing!!

That thing is pressed on there pretty damn hard, it was a bitch to get off. I can't imagine it could slip with just a cam upgrade. I think the keyed hubs are mainly for supercharged applications where there is a lot more strain on the hub. I wouldn't worry about it.

 

Unless you are turning a blower it will be alright as long as it still goes on tight.
