keeping my engine cool under extreme conditions!
Hello,
During my vacations in Miami I got a job down there, I was planning to bring My Z28 down.
Now, my car has a hotcam/bolt ons and during summer (in Delaware) sometimes my temp needle goes higher than would like (Without the AC on
)
For cooling I have a 160*Thermostat plus custom programing to start my fans early (and small tranny cooler)
What else could I do to keep my car cool?
would a Electric water pump help any?? how about radiators? does anyone sells a better one that fits with no modiffications??
What would be the best ration of antifreeze / water for a car that will not see winter?
I also found out that Miami doesn't have emissions
hehehe I'm soooo happy
Regards,
Leonardo

I am about 12hr drive N of Miami and lived in Pompano Beach for a while. You shouldn't have a problem with running hot as 200-220* is normal for these engines.
If ya want to really cool it down get a 3 core rad,Big GPM electric pump, Evans Coolant and ask Evans about their water pump trick.Ya might see 180* after spending 800-1000.00 on it.

I live in Orlando, i know what you are talking about. I run 40% dex-cool 60% water, with a hypertech 160 thermostat and a program that runs the fans a lot more frequently. I normaly stay around 170-180 degrees on a hot florida day .
