I meant to say, as you note, that you installed the L caliper on the R arm which would flip the position of the bleeder and create problems. Be certain they are correct.

They were backwards when I took them off the car.... well, near as I can tell 'backwards'. I just thought it odd they were installed how they were... but they worked w/ no problem. I put them back that way because they were working.

I'll check them out today. I need to take better pics of them or something to illustrate how they're mounted.

(big pics)
I just went and got some pics of the calipers.
This is the left front.
This is the right front.

I currently have the installed the L caliper on the left, and the R caliper on the right.

Man... this has been dragging on for so long, I guess I've forgotten some details. I'd forgotten that I did that, because I thought it 'should be that way.' But now, by looking @ where the bleeder valves are, I see why they were reversed in the first place.

I guess 'backwards' wasn't so backwards afterall.

I switched the front calipers to their original sides. (R on left, L on right) I Mighty Vac'd fluid through each, and got good fluid. I didn't get the brakes back after that, so I left them overnight.

This afternoon, I reinstalled the wheels to take the car to a shop and have them figure it out. I thought I'd give it one more try after I put the wheels back on. I fired the car, and pumped the pedal about 5-6 times.

They came back. They didn't go away, and they're as good as they were before. Panic braking, normal stop-n-go...everything. Good enough, I went out and drove 120 miles tonight.

Don 97 SS - You have been an amazing help with this. I am very appreciative of your time and effort. I'm sorry if I frustrated you to the point you wanted to reach through the computer and beat me with my own keyboard. I really am genuinely grateful for your assistance. This was the last piece of getting my 3 1/2 month project done.

Thanks again,
Fred

Fred, you are welcome. I was glad to hear my thoughts were helpful. That is what this board all about. I have received alot of help from this board and I am always glad to try to help others. We have all been there before with a tough problem and chances are someone on the board has experienced and solved the same problem before.
