Question Keep hotcam, or go for the 306?? (convince me)

I have a pretty good deal available to me right now. i have a friend who is willing to trade me straight up, his cc306 and springs, for my hotcam and springs. I am going to be doing a head swap very soon anyway so it won't be that big of a deal to swap cams. I am also spraying a 100 shot on certain occasions. I have a 355 with stock crank and rods, and hypereutectic pistons that are slightly better than stock. I am getting a set of heads that flow 270@500 lift put on, so I will have enough flow for a 306. I am all about streetability. I love my cam, because with the tuning that I have, it isn't that noticible compared to some peoples cams.

I don't want to have to buy a 12 bolt, or a 9inch, but i have the funds if I need to. I am just wondering if you think that it would be worth the trouble of swapping injectors, getting tuned again, etc to go from a hotcam to a 306?

Any opinions welcome.
Thanks in advance

go for it youll spend a little $$$ on the injectors +tuning but other than that nothing else really. youve got everything. + if you put the heads on later, you might regret not having gone a bit bigger. jmo. have fun whatever you do.

Go for it!!! I just installed my 306 last weekend and love it. There is a little bit of cam surge but I just keep it above 2k while cruising. Other than that I dont see why it cant be enjoyable on the street.

That is exactly the kinds of things that I needed to know. I have already have tuning from PCM for less, so that wouldn't cost me any extra money, just downtime with my car to send it back. If anyone else has any opinions on it, please let me know what you think. Also if you want to let me know times or dyno #'s that would be awesome too(I know that I can search for them, but that isn't the main thing that I am worried about).
