K&N VS Cool Blue

I know that most people here use K&N (myself included), but I am starting to hear more and more negative things about them. So, what I was wondering is if anyone has any info on the Accel Kool Blue filters. I know that they are touted as a high flow/high quality air filter, but do they hold up to the hype?

Probably every bit as much as K&N does. It's probably the same filter but with different color oil. Id like to get the blue over the purple/red because it would look better under the hood of my blue car! I think thats what it's going to boil down to, which color do you like better?!

They are made of the same things, it's just that Accel claims that it has more surface area than the K&N because of the bigger pleats. The Holley filter also claims more surface area. They are basiclly the same and there is little improvement on K&N's original design. Oh, and it's only blue because of a different oil and look at fit, the rumor is that the Power Shot fits better in alot of vehicles and elimenates the foam spacers.
