Post K&n Cai

When installing my K&N FIPK Cai I removed the plastic undertray from underneath the car. After installing the kit, I did not reinstall the undertray and I notice that my front bumper is a little wobbly. Obviously I have to reinstall the undertray to correct the bumper problem, but should I cut a hole in the tray to let in air or will it induct enough air with the undertray as is? Any comments are appreciated! Thanks

It's fine the way it is. If you do that, it will get alot dirtier and water will be splashing on the filter. A little suggestion. Take some sand paper (I actually used the cocrete) and roughen up the part of the plastic that the filter attaches to. They are notorious about falling off.

My car is not a everyday driver I left my undertray off and used zip-ties to make the fender not wiggle.

I had a K&N before I converted to Ram Air...... check that puppy every once in a while to make sure it has not slipped off. Roughing up the mating surface (as mentioned above) would be a good idea. Definite improvement over stock.

Definitly do not remove the splash guard. My filter has fallen off about 3 times and if I didn't have the guard there I would have lost my filter. I wish I would have just bought the Moroso one because my buddy has it and it has never fallen off.

Definately keep the splash guard or undertray as you call it on at all times. I used to have the FIPK and my filter fell off when I was driving on the highway, bye bye filter. Like everyone else said they are notorious for falling off.

Yes I agree with the others. At first I thought this would be a good idea to remove the splash guard, but when I think about the possibility of my filter falling off....
