k member install?

Question k member install?

ive got my motor/ tranny bolted on the k member. i started lowering the body down and the struts are pulling in. im looking advise from some of you guys that do this regularly. is there any tricks to geting the studs through the firewall?

I'm going to assume you're talking about the studs on the shock towers? To keep them from flopping out I bungee'd them to the k-member temporarily.

Just go slow, lowering the body 1/16" of an inch at a time. Eventually you can pop them in so all four are in, then continue slowly lowering the body.

Ideally though it helps to have another set of hands, but it's not impossible with one person.

thanks man are you saying bungee the shock tower from falling in towards motor ?

You just have to baby it and go slow, lining them up as you go. Some wood blocks between the shock assy and the exhaust manifold can help keep them temporarily in place.

Yep - Rob's right. Just go nice and slow. A combination of wood blocks or bungees will work to keep the shock towers in place if you're flying solo.
