i know its a great pump but i mounted it and the fan was hitting the inner ridge of the housing and needed to be grinded out a lil so it would work. not sure if this was ever mentioned so i figured i would warn u guys b4 it being all bolted up and not running.

 

You sure your fan shroud is in place? CSI has never had that problem. Only meziere. I've had a CSI for about a year now no issues with it being too close the the fan shroud.

 

I have a CSI and I dont have any clearance issues either.... WEIRD!

 

i had to cut a half moon shape about 3/8 an inch into mine to get it to fit smmoothly and not rub with torque and all...

 

I cut my fan shroud just a little also. It just barely touched, now no problems at all.

 

The fan shroud is nothing condsidering the butcher job you gotta give to the old waterpump housing.

 

I forgot about pulling than... all I remember is the grinding to make that sucker fit in place... and just my luck the dremel died in action... so it was up to the good ol' drill to finish the job...took like 2 hours... with a dull bit.

 

I had to cut mine a little, too, but not much. No biggie.

 

it wasnt the fan shroud that needed to be cut it was the inner ring inside the housing so that the fan on the pump could turn freely. each time bolts were tightened the fan would not move freeely and fuses would blow so i loosened boltss and realized that the fan on the pump itslef was hitting the inside of the housing.

 

I cut my shroud as well just to give it some clearance.
