Pics of my optispark

After having engine misfire problems for about a month and spending over $1,000 on new plugs, wires, installation, diagnostics, etc., and finally a new optispark... I think I've found the problem. Check out these pics of my old optispark.

That has got to be the problem. It burned a hole through the plastic and was arcing against the metal plate behind it... I'm so freaking glad to finally get this fixed! Just thought I'd share my joy.

That's the funny thing about electricity. If your plugs or wires aren't providing sufficient ground. Electricity will find one for you

Hope the new opti fixes your problem

Total it's actually $1,100, here's the list:

New factory plugs - $130 (I think?)
New factory plug wires - $140
Installation of new plugs, ignition coil, ignition module, injector cleaning, and misc. stuff - $350
Installation of passenger side plug wires - $120
New water pump (old one was starting to leak) - $110
New optispark - $180
Diagnosis @ GM - $75

So basically, after $1,100 my car is good for another 100k.

Well, the good thing is that you got your car running good again

Next time, if you're going to replace them.. look up for aftermarket parts too, they might be cgeaper and perform better. the
MSD 8.5mm Spark Plug Wires, are much better than the stock ones and are $79.99 in thunder racing.... I think an electric water pump will cost you as much as you pay for your stocker too

Also try finding a friend that can help you intall all this stuff if not "offer beer or money" at the "lounge" and I'm sure someone will show up to help you out!

edit-> NGK TR5 Spark Plugs, Stock heat range, gapped at .035 $2.25 (per plug at Thunder Racing)
