a buddy of mine has a 2001 pustang gt, its a 5-speed, and has racing flows, and a k&n air filter on it...it runs extremly good for a mustang id say.

we raced once before on a black top road, he has traction control, and i had a set of worn out kumohos, and that high rpm miss (bad grade of gas)...and he beat me by about 3 cars, in a little over a quarter mile.

he is really good with the 5-speed, and has braggin to every body on how he hasnt been beat, so i told him i wanted to race him again, and he was like i dont want to waste my gas on you again...so after a cai, spark plug and wires, and 93 octane gas (which cured my miss) i raced him last night. we race on a concret road, where i knew traction would not be a prob.

the weather was about 60 degrees, with low humidity and my car was running real good for some odd reason, so i called him up and he said it was on...he had two of his buddies with him, and they got out at the finish line, so i did a little burnout to warm my tires, and he did the same, he started to rev his car, and i was stalling/reving mine up to 2400rpm...and then the count down 3,2,1 GO! we took off and i pulled him a car and a half on take off, the by the end of the quarter i let off and hit my brake lights...in the end i had about 21/2 to 3 cars on him!!!

the only thing he said was, we are gonna do it again! and he finally said man your car is quick and thats the first time i've been beat!

i was like yeah i know its a ZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!

i was just wondering if a lt1 engine was faster then a 5.0 or a 4.6...but from what my test conclusions were the answer was YES!!!
