Just put in my K&N FIPK

Hey guys, I just put in my CAI and can't wait for this rain to stop. It is raining super hard out right now and is about 40 degrees out. My garage is full so I had to do the install in my drive way. Well, the install was a bitch because I didn't have the correct tools for the job. I had to use a channel locks to un-screw the plastic cover to put the filter on. Didn't help that it's freezing out and raining pretty hard. Well, went on pretty good. I'm excited to see if this will give me a little more high end help. I know alot of people have this CAI, so what are your impressions of it? Any SOTPs impressions? I already know the dyno #'s (about 10 RWHP right?) Thanks guys for reading this senseless post. Cya. How many more mods do you plan on doing if you don't have the tools to do the CAI? I give you credit for perseverance though.

I think Sears has some Craftsman tool sets on sale... You can get a ton of tools for a low price with their sets, and they're good tools. I seriously abused one while trying to remove my crank hub and they replaced it for free

haha guys, yes, I do have the screw driver, but I didn't have the 10mm deal. I am going to go buy my 2nd tool set. I loose everything I touch. I play on doing headers next, and maybe gears. 5th gear tops out at 110, which kinda pissed me off. I thought it would be higher to 120-125. I would like to run some sort of NOS and get some DR's. I also would like to take driving lessons before I get into some heavier things like heads/cams. Talk to ya later. Noah

gears

your going to get taller gears? talk about one step foward, two steps back-

and what the hell trans do you have in there? 5th at 110?
t-56 tops out 5th around 162

you are going to run some kind of nitrous, not NOS

man, you all are tearin him apart.....so i wll join in!
why do you need driving lessons for heads or a cam?? it isn't like you are strapping a jet engine onto your car (even though you might think that you have after the first time you drive it). Driving is driving...that is my 2 cents.

NOS - Nitrous Oxide System

5th gear in my car at 110, I am at 5k on my tach. At 5100, my rev limiter kicked in. I didn't say that I was going to get larger gears. I said that I was mad that 110 was my top speed in 5th gear. Driving lessons are for auto-x. I obviously can't do gears myself, for I don't have a press (bearings). Also, those typo's are from my frozen fingers, not my lack of grammar.

um, why would your rev limiter come on at 5100? on the autos the shift point is like 6000. And if you did gears, you'd be going even slower, like, 100 at that rpm (not in a normal car, yours is ****ed up somehow). Unless its a v6 lol

Nitrous Oxide systems = a brand

thats like saying you want some kind of Dell when you want some kind of computer. Pet peve of mine, and many other board members since the the fast and furious

unless you swaped your gears,
you should be shifting around 120ish in 4th at 57-5800rpm

Ya, I'm not sure why my rev. limit kicked in at 5100. I always say NOS in terms of Nitrous Oxide System, not the brand, although people do. I went and looked up my gear ratios and verified that I should have been doing like 150 at the top of 5th gear. So, I'm really worried about my gearing. I not know, but some how, some way, maybe I thought that I was in 5th when I really was in 4th, so I don't know. I'm going to find out for sure, and document my speeds vs. RPMs in 3-5th gear. Thanks.
