just pulled my first engine from the bottom

hey uys,

just pulled my first engine from the bottom... usally i do it from the top and this was easier BUT..... getting the car up so high was a pita....

car slipped once and almost killed me... but i had the picker atttached still so thank god for that one.

i used len's write up on this task and it was good, except he didnt tell you hot to lift the car up with a STB since the shocks are what holds the atb to the car, i found some nuts and bolts that would fit in the hole and .......rest is history thank god!!!!!

this was not easy!!!!

I pulled my motor and put it back in through the top. Took off hood, valve covers, intake, and headers. Pulled it and installed again with tranny atttached and it wasn't that hard with hoist and few guys to help. fwiw

How long did it take you through the top, including the time to button everything up?

Re: just pulled my first engine from the bottom

I've done several now on these cars and the most recent we tried the bottom method and from now on that's how I'm doing it. Drop it out the bottom, rebuild it, slap on a BMR tubular k-member and dress it up completely -wires/headers/all, then lift it back in...it's a beautiful thing!
