Re: Re: just installed slp cai 1 prob!!!!

It should be pretty tight. The only thing I can imagine is that the bracket that slides into the back of the radiator brace isn't in properly or may even be missing all together.

The CAI has a black arm that comes off the piping, pointing towards the front of the car. That should slide into a lip type bracket that the original airbox slipped into.

Other than that, I don't know what it could be...

the SLP CAI shouldnt move, that metal bracket that fits right behind the headlight, to the right (lookin from the front) of the radiator should keep it and your MAF in place, I can't move mine at all...

lift it up?? mine is super stuck in there b/c its stuck between the ABS unit and the radiator....if its the up motion you're worried about, at least when the hood is closed it should keep it from moving upwards.

Use electrical tape and wrap the MAF and CAI.

Should be tight up against the radiator wall, I bent in the holder to keep it from moving at all.

FYI, The polished elbows, BOTH the vortec and the trick flow require you to cut the elbow b/c it wont fit with some CAI including the SLP CAI. If you ripped it, thats when many people switch over to the 1LE...

So if u wanna cut the polished elbow, then get it. If not, then the 1LE would be fine too...

The breather cap on the valve cover 1. looks good 2. relieves some pressure on the motor(oil leakage)which I have never had.
