Just installed PS LT's...w/in
Nuckles bleeding, finger smashed
. nothin major. I thought everyone was kidding aboput how high you have to get the car. DAMN. prolly 3 feet or so. Scratched them a little putting them in, not too bad.
Anyone ellse worry about how close the y pipe is to the brake and fuel lines under the car? I am a little worried that it is too close. The y pipe also rubs a support or sumthin that runs crossways underneath the car. Gonna have to find a place to put the cat, It has been totally relocated. Going to the muffler shop mon to have it all welded up. Talk about loud.

Re: Just installed PS LT's...w/in
When I installed mine I had the back on ramps and the front on jack stands as high as they would go. still wasn't high enough. So I took my dads taller jack stands and put them as high as they would go. Still not high enough! Found some 6x6's and concreet blocks stacked them on top of each other , walla
The biggest pain in the but was that the jack I had would only go so high so I would have to put wood under it and stage the thing up little by little. After I got everything buttoned up took me 30 min to get her down lol
I put a few nasty scrapes on mine as well not deep enough to matter. I tried wraping them with a towel but ditched it , because it was causeing more trouble then it was worth. About the y pipe clearence on the drivers side right after ther collector yeah it is verry close and if your motor mounts are worn (as mine are ) the Y pipe will bang on that brace under hard excelleration. I straped a peice of heater hose in between untill I put my poly mounts in. Works great

there is electrical wires that run down the passenger front fender. (inner wheelwell) Did you cut those and splice them with longer wires, so they can be reroughted away from the headers?.... If you did not you need to do it. Look at the wires, if they are not touching the header they will be close. They will burn. You will have trouble starting your car. On wire goes to the starter, one is a ground to the block, one gose to a funky connector in the front of the block, and the last is the rear O2, rear O2 should delete anyway.
e-mail me if you need specific info on extending those wires.

First off THANKS!
I did not lengthen the wires on the pside, I just ziptied them out of the way, giving an inch or 2 clearance. well see.
as far as the plastic fuel lines near the dside ypipe, I removed a clip that holds them in place, bent the lines up close to the floor, and wrapped the ypipe in header wrap. I am going to have to get some metal clips to hold the lines securely to the floor.
my motor mounts are fairly new. but I am worried about the crossbrace and ypipe near the dside collector rattling and making vibrations. I MAY get out the angle grinder and 'trim' it to fit??!! Maybe!

Y pipe is hitting trans crossmember, you can grind the member, or pull/bend the Y pipe down at the cost of some ground clearance. 1 1/2 inches is plenty of clearance for fuel lines, 1 inch for brake lines. The cat can only go directly at the end of the Y pipe, any farther back and it wont heat up.
