just installed duals.....thoughts within---->

just got a 2.5" custom x-pipe dual setup. i have LT's to 3-2.5" reducers then to a custom x-pipe then back to bullets dumped before the axle. before i had the PS y-pipe to a 3" cutout then into an OEM LS1 muffler.

my thoughts:

i think it sounds real nice, no rasp what so ever. but i thought it was going to sound louder, that's the only thing that dissapointed me. i really thought that the bullets would be wayyyyyy louder. the car feels like i gained some low end torque not too much but the SOTP confirms it. but where i felt a definate increase was after 3k rpm, the car pulls and just keeps going all the way to 5700 rpm. its kind of too bad there's a rev limiter cuz it feels like it wants to just go past the limiter. also the shop that did the work tucked everything up real nice and the lowest part of the exhaust was the collecters. only thing that worried me was the fact that some of the pipes were real close to the fuel lines, but i getting some insulation wrap for those parts of the lines. total setup cost me $195

2 bullets $88(yes i know they cost 26$ each)
xpipe $47
pipes/labor $60

around town everyone was quoting me $250-$350 to custom fab an x-pipe, provide bullets, and pipe/labor. so i guess i got a pretty good deal on the setup.

BTW i will try to get some pics but all i have is my camera phone to take some pics. unless i can get a hold of a digital camera. and i also just realized i have almost written a novel

Cool. Look forward to seeing some pics. If duals could be positioned like a regular catback system I'd do it myself. Closet thing to a dual setup is GMMG or other chambered systems. I just my car low to the ground and duals w/ a fbody is rather hard sitting 26" from the wheel well down.
