Just got gear installed, supposed to whine at first?
My 3.73s whined bad when they first put em in and I took it back and said here you drive it and tell me if its OK.
He drives it and comes back and I can see the look on his face is NO.
He redid it and it took alot of the whine out of it.
Now they are fine and been in there like 50k.
I have been told whine on deceleration is BAD.

last month my new Richmond 3.73s whined at 55-70 going home, and i was like, 'no ****, those camaroz28.com guys were right!'
not really super loud, and no sound when lifting or decel, no whine around town
good news is: after 500 miles, the whine has decreased a lot, even on the freeway. they threw in Amsoil and the GM additive.
since i got the SLP take off Torsen installed too, i'm going to drain it this week and throw in Redline Heavy Shockproof
GM motive is supposed to sound like stock, i'd be pissed

You may be screwed. It can happen to anyone, whether a dealer or not.
When it comes to gears though, I beieve you are better off with someone who knows how to set them up right and understands that they shoudn't whine (unless they often do like Richmonds).
Take it back to the Dealer and tell them that it was apparently not set up correctly.
If they give you BS, talk to the Omsbudsman about having it done over or have them refund the labor part and the Kit cost and have it done by a drive train specialist.JMHO
