Just got back from Track. May have shifting issues...
Well tonight I went to the track for the first time with my GTP's. I am not very happy but not disappointed either. I ran a new best (Barly) of a 12.28 @ 109. Anyway the DA was high & there was probably the strongest head wind I have ever encounterd at the track. That is not an excuse, but a fact. It was pushing me as I was standing next to the track. Anyway as soon as I get tuning & better air I should be seeing consistant 11 second runs.
Now for my issues. The last 2 runs of the night probably could have been 12.1's if I didn't have this new problem arise. On the last to runs, as soon as I left the line the car leaped out of the hole then instantly shifted to second. It didn't even come close to getting through the entire first gear. I'd say it shifted at 5000 rpm at most on those 2 last runs. Any idea what I may have encounterd? My trans is a FLP Level 4 that is Vacuum modulated with a 3600 stall. Now the car kinda feels sluggish & isn't hitting as hard & crisp during normal driving as it was before the track. It almost feels like a converter problem. Something is just not right.
Any ideas or thoughts would be great. I did win dyno time for having a .005 R/T then followed up with a .004.
Thanks

Eddie,
I don't know how, but since I've been following your car over at MFBA it seems like it never had those shifting problems with your old Vig 3200. I mean, were your 60fts still better with that one as compared to your new 3600? Have you had Speed Inc mess with or attempt to fine tune your shift points after the installation of this larger 'verter? Otherwise, I don't know...
BTW, ChiSox only 5 games back of the Royals now!
Probably won't last though...
Later man,
Mike

Well I just took the car out for a ride to see if it still feels sluggish. Nope. It feels fine. I won't know if I still have the shift problem until it is on the track & hooks up. Now I am really confused....
Well I guess it goes with the territory of modding & racing.
