Question Just go a cutout

Well, I just got a cutout Friday and I was a little cautious about getting it. After two days and one trip to the track I have to say that I am pretty happy with it. It gave my car a very mean sound and when I went to the track with the cutout capped I ran a new best of 14.0 @ 100. After opening the cutout I ran another new best of 13.8 @ 101.5 ! I would tell everyone that a cutout is the way to go but I talked to a guy at the track who also had a cutout and when he left it opened it slowed him down. Although we did have them in different locations. Overall, I gained .2 off my et and 1.5 mph! Not bad for only $35. The only thing that I don't like is that it is giving me a headache when I drive it. Hopefully it's not being caused by the cutout though.

ya they really can't be beat, they sound great and perform well. Wait until you throw some headers and a cam in your car, with the cutout open it really sounds mean

I love my cutout as well, sounds great with the JetHot LT's. I made my own set of plates for the cutout to adjust sound for street use. The cutout sounds so good I can't bear to put the cap back on. Currently I've got a plate with a 1 1/2" hole in the center and it sounds great while not being to loud. Definitely the best 35$ I've ever spent on the car.

Up top it says that the other guy had his cut out in a different location. Where did you locate yours?

I had the cutout placed where the pipe bends to go into the muffler just after it comes down from over the axle.

I loved my cut out when I had the T/A. I use to leave it uncapped most of the time. I bought it used for $5 and had it installed for $15. Not too bad for only $20.

There is a nice place to put the cutout just before the over the axle pipe. I can lay beside the car and install or remove the cap in about a minute.

Mine is right before the overaxle pipe. Easy access although I never cap it anymore. I used to cap it when I was going on cross country trips (the drone can get to you after 15 hours). I never tire of the sound when driving around town though, might help that I have a convertible.

Cutout

Mine runs great and I just added a Vig 2800 and trans cooler...in a week I'm adding a complete rear-end (3 carrier 3.42, TA girdle, bolts) and selling my stock rear-end with 2.73's...

Cutout + Vig 2800 + 3.42 in the back = ?

Im expecting a bad-*** 60ft and 1/4...
