Ok so today I changed the optispark and waterpump. It was a fun and enjoyable experience !! Anyways I took off the AIR housing and moved the AIR pump to the side so I could work better. Long story short Hooked everything backup and when I started the car it idled really rough, Also sounded like I had a bad exhaust leak(I have one but not THAT bad). But I drove it around and once you get going it seems to subside a bit. I thought I had an AIR pump hose pulled out some where but can't seem to find one. Any suggestions would be very helpfull!!

 

Well it hasn't given me a code. I drow it for about 10min. I think I aligned the opti up correctly I lined it correctly. But if it was not lined up correctly wouldn't be alot worse?

 

Check your wires,might be it.

 

yea I cehecked all of them thats the first thing I did. I am gonna take a bat at it tommorow. Hopefully I can find the problem. also when I was driving it it was very very sluggish at low rpms when I tried to take off fast.

 

It almost has to be opti related either it's not in the right slot or wires crossed.

 

but if it was in the wrong slot on the opti, wouldn't it run crappy through all the rpm range? I mean it just idles real rough and sluggish on the start. but when i went through the neighborhood it ran good....

 

Thats a good indication of the opti not timed right or a wire crossed.
It's got to be related to what ya just did if it was OK before the work.

 

What about the AIR pump? what would happen is one of those hoses were missing?

 

Just finished having a look down there after work. I took off the AIR pump nothing looked bad. All the wires are on the opti correct. I dunno what else to do but just re install the opti ........ Justed seems like it rides to nice for it to be in the wrong slot on the opti. Ill keep ya posted

 

I was just thunking about if a bad ground somewhere could cause this problem? Because my neg battery cale bolt was stripped out..... but I got a new one and put it in and problem did not go away yet. or what about the IAC connector if somehow that got messed up would this happen?? thinking about all options before removing the w/p and opti PITA!!
