jet injectors cleaned?
jet injectors cleaned?
My car was running really bad i changed the fuel filter and it was great for about 15 min. then it started to act up aging. I am going to put on a nother fuel filter should i also get the injectors cleaned at mobil lube? Should i empty my gas tank...how do i do that with out taken the tank out. can i just unhook my fuel filter and let the pump pump it all out. What PSI should my fuel be at. When idel and at WOT? Thanks in advance
Stock fuel pressure should be between 41-46psi, with the key on, but the engine not running, with the engine running and the vacuum compensator line pulled off the regulator, or at WOT. When you reconnect the vacuum line at idle, the fuel pressure will drop proporationally to vacuum, giving you 35-38psi at idle. But it should return to the 41-46psi range at WOT.
I would check the fuel pressure before emptying the tank, or having the injectors cleaned. Is it possible you got a tank of fuel with some water in it? Have you tried a new tank of fuel?
You can siphon most of the fuel out of the tank... a bit hard to get the tube past the baffle in the fill neck, but it can be done. That would leave you with very little fuel left at the bottom of the tank. You could pump that out through a disconnected line. Not clear why you want to drain the fuel.... comtaminated? ... dirt in the bottom of the tank?
