If you get the jethots, be prepared to jack up the passenger side header to get it off the k-member and to keep it from rattling, and to grind the k-member right next to the drivers side header to keep it from rattling like crazy. I know from experience, If I could do it over again I would get the hookers, the only reason I didn't was because they dont have the EGR or AIR hookups.

I said locally coated Hookers are cheaper then Jet Hots.

I can get hookers coated for 180 CDN, with a 5 year warrenty.
Cant see jethot matching that.

I bought the Hookers long before the jet hots were out.I would still rather have the original than copy. The flange is thick enough as are the pipes.A little lighter I would bet.I have read the nighmares people have with the Jet Hots instal, and seen the poor weld quality.

That's why you go all out with Finish Line Performance or TPiS

So Hooker LT's don't have any hookups for emissions? If not can emissions hookups be fabricated with a drill and a welder?

more or less yes,
you will need the bungs for them I believe.

I see terlox is still on his header quest, good luck man. I am having a very hard time deciding on any header to compliment the GMMG.

As far as this debate goes, all I can recommend is that one company has been around as long as my grandpa has, and I would think they are better in the art of header making, even though they are close in design. The other company specializes in coating headers, not necessarily designing them. But the price reflects quality usually.

Good luck, at least you narrowed yours down to two, I am only down to 5 different header styles.

i can not speak for everyone else.but the jet hots are really beautiful, but were an absolute pain to install mine were done by my friend who is a gm master mechanic who has a lift and he had to raise both sides of the engine to get them in.change the engine mounts while you are their. but the finished product is great they are tremendous quality.

Jet-Hot's already come fully coated in & out. They have thicker flanges (better to seal the gaskets). They also come with emissions hookups, which Hooker doesn't.

Depending on where you get Hooker's, you'll need to get O2 bungs welded in, Jet-Hot's come with them already welded in.

They aren't exactly identical, either. Some primaries are bent differently and Jet-Hot's are thought to have better ground clearence.
