Jet Hot vs. Hooker Headers

I saved up some money and christmas break I am going to buy some lt's. I would like hear your opinions about the two, the pros and cons. Iv'e heard about clearance issues with the jet hots, and the hookers have a higher price tag. The $ is not an issue I want the better quality of the two. Thanks, Jason

I have been rolling the same question over in my mind. I've decided to go with the Hookers, even though they are more expensive. I have heard of clearance issues with the Jet Hots, too. Plus, Hooker has been around for years and years and Jet Hot LT1 headers have only been around for a year or so. I'd rather spend top dollar for a tried and true brand name, just for the peace of mind. I'm sure a lot of people are going to call me stupid since Jet Hots are based on Hookers and use thicker tubing that hookers and are less expensive, but oh well, that's my opinion.

Jet Hot LT's are exact renditions of the Hooker LT's...just thicker gauged metal...

As far as a difference in quality there really isn't much of one and as far as fitment issues with the Jet Hot's most people don't have them...so I'd say save around $100 and go with the Jet Hot's...

If money is not as issue, then go with the TPIS long-tubes...

TTT...I am at the same cross roads now and want to know which of the 2 are the better ones.

Does either one have any slip fit primaries?
Does either one hit the steering knuckle or anything else?
Is plug access the same?

Thanks,
Claude

they are the same.

if you look on the jethot site they actually say hooker super comps, coated with emmisions and O2 bungs.

same thing, but hookers and then locally coated are way cheaper.

If you do a search on this, you will find that alot of people have issues where the collector is not paralell with the bottom of the car and actually bends up to the cross memeber. I had this issue on my 97 formula with jet hot longtubes. Also the Jet hot longtubes have a slip fit number 1 primar on the drivers side. The hookers do not.. This is a leak issue, but I dont know if it makes a difference. Also some people that have this problem with the collector going back up to the car blame it on the motor mounts.

Let me know if this helps. I had them installed and did it myself... let me know if you have any questions.

Doesn't Jet Hot use a variety of manufacturers and simply apply their coating? In our case, their LT/shorties for LT1's /LS1's are Hooker w/ Jet Hot's coating, or so it appears from their website.

Hookers dont have slipfit primaries... Jethot does... and the header tubes are tac welded to the flange and not welded around fully, which kinda looks shotty but there arent any leaks so I guess it doesn matter.

Yeah there seems to be 2 versions of the hooker LTs out there.. 1 have teh slip-fit #1 and the other does not.

IMO.. and keep in mind i dont have LTs... but from what ive heard on there the jethots have some issues. some people sya they go right in without trouble while other people have resorted to hammering them in place.
