Jet Hot V.S. Hooker PICS INSIDE !!

Hope u guys appreciate this, had to hurry up before fex ex came to pic up the jet hots.

here are some comparrison pics of the hooker super comps v.s. jet hot long tubes.

main differences i saw, hooker welds looked pretty bad, the ports were ****ty looking,

The o2 sensor bung on jet hots are on the inside of the header, hooker on the outside.

Jet Hots 527.00 shipped. Hooker's 629.00 W/O Shipping

in my personal opinion, the jet hots are HANDS DOWN a better quality piece BY FAR !!

****BUT**** i read about this, and it DID happen to me, which is why i had to order the hooker headers. i installed the jet hots while the engine was out of the car, sitting on the subframe. so they were installed 100% correctly. when they were installed, the header flange was not parallel with the bottom of the car, it was actually pointing upwards toward the transmission crossmember !! (y-pipe won't fit) [EDIT]!!! turned this whole situation into a whole damn mess. jet hot sent me a new replacement header, but had OVAL ports,,screw that, sent them all back and got hooker. jet hot was very helpful customer service wise..hats of to them.
i did some research, jet hot apparently took hookers design and moved the flange closer to the floorboard to increase ground clearence...well mine was touching the floor, and point upwards ...

here's the pics.

that sux the jet hots didnt work out for you. i put mine on with the engine out as well and ran into the same dilema. the driver side collector pointed up as well. instead of removing them though, i took the car to and exhaust shop and the guy there did some custom fabrication with the pipes that i brought him to make everything fit. he custom fitted a 3" cutout on that side by customizing some of the piping and grinding the lip on the tranny crossmember. worked like a charm and fits great.

Very nice info man. We still swear by the Jet-Hots cause like said above its cheaper still to have $60 (an hour) of shop time making pipes to work nice than the hookers.

What might have happened is that the motor mounts that you had were sagging. That alot of times is a problem, and then people complain about jet hots when it is there own fault because they didnt replace the motor mounts and the engine is sagging.

I agree, my pacesetters were hitting the floorboard, replaced the mounts and no more problems.

its funny how hookers have the O2 bung on the wrong side... whats up with that? Id still go with hookers before the jet hots just because they have been around so much longer. My hooker LTs fit like a dream(after replacing the motor mounts).

just wondering y it would matter, jethotts are the same exact design with larger flanges to compensate for flange warpage?
i understand the "theyve been around longer " but they are just about the same exact thing. (not trying to start anything )

On topic , about teh headers not fitting right, alot of ppl complain about headers not fitting right , any kind of header no specific brand, but then they forget to think , how many miles on the car, are my motor mounts still good, usually header fitment issues are due to bad motor mounts, just my 2 cents

my motor mounts were replaced during the swap..
anyways, my mounts WERE sagging, but that would have only helped the problem, by lowering the flange..

Re: Jet Hot V.S. Hooker PICS INSIDE !!

my motor mounts were replaced as well with new poly mounts. i had my complete x-pipe/cutouts/bullets plus custom fabrication done for like $80 or $90 bucks. thats all welded up and he even threw in the turndowns for free. i'm sure if you just had your y-pipe custom fitted it a little, it would be pretty cheap too. for guys getting jet hots, dont sweat it. it can be worked around.

My Jet Hots hit the floor boards at WOT when I first installed them. I changed the tranny mount to a poly unit and no more problem. I love the fitment and quality of the headers except for the light surface rust at the bottom

Hookers just plain fit. Thats what really made Hookers popular. The only real complaint about them seems to be that they hang so low. I installed a set of hooker LT's on my 69 428cj stang and they fit great.

beides the fact that jethots design is a little diff and teh welds are better , i d k if ill ever buy them again b/c i am def having ome fitment isues,

how come jethot doesnt know about this , if they do how come they dont fix it?

im talking about teh driver side header pointing up towards the body and teh y-pipe not fitting

BTW u dont happen to have any pics of teh jethot and hooker y-pipes? to show teh diff
