Jet Hot LT driver side primary?

I just got my Jet Hot LT's today, and I noticed that the driver's side primary is not connected. Does that have to be welded on or is it fine to just leave it connected after the install?

it is a good press fit, no welding required, I did have to use a wire brush bench grinder to get it on there.

Yup no welding. Its the same as the Hooker design with the slip fit primary. I sanded a little to get it to go on and no leaks after nearly a year.

Just wondering if you're putting the headers on yourself or if you're getting a shop to do it. I'm planning on tackling mine when they get here, i know i have the tools to do it but wondering what problems are common with the install or if anyone has a link to a good tech article to go by.

btw i'm getting the jet hots too.

I did it myself... they were easy with the motor on the stand. then you just put the motor in.

I'm gonna be putting them in with the help of some friends. We have done a few header installs on LS1's before. But this will be our first LT1.

Its not that hard to do...just take your time and you'll be okay with it.

i think he meant an engine stand. but you can do it in the car just fine. i think its easier from the bottom with the spark plugs out myself.

I had to lift the motor about 2-3", not really hard to do, just a 2x4 on the floor jack.

The bigest thing is to remember to get the car as high in the air as you can... I used a set of 24" jackstands, and it was just enough for the PS header, you have to put it in almost vertical...

The install wasn't a real bad deal and it was even easier since we had the tranny out . Just be sure you can get the car off the ground a good distance. We had mine about 2' off the ground.
